WELCOME TO THE CHARLESTON POST OF SAME!
The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is the premier professional engineering association in the United States for connecting architects, engineers and builders in the public sector and private industry, uniting them to improve individual and collective capabilities for national security. The Charleston Post was established in 1941. The current membership includes more than 200 individual members along with 30 companies and organizations representing military and civilian engineering professionals.

On behalf of the Board of Direction, I'm happy to welcome you to one of the most active Posts on the east coast. As I reflect on our progress, I'm pleased that our membership is increasing, we have a student chapter at The Citadel, we have a nationally-recognized sustaining member, and we continue with our Industry Day. We host events for our Young Members and our monthly programs are getting more interesting and informative each time. I look forward to more success in the Post, and I invite you to actively participate and assist us in meeting out goals. I wish you only the best in 2013 and hope to see and talk to you at our gatherings.

The Charleston Post's next meeting is on Thursday, February 21st at 11:30 am.
It will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Charleston Airport, 5265 International Blvd., North Charleston, SC 29418. This is in the same area as the Tanger shopping complex, Sam's Club, near the Charleston airport and the intersection of I-26 and 526.
Networking begins at 11:30 a.m.

MESSAGE FROM CHRIS HINSON-SCHOLARSHIP DIRECTOR:
The SAME Charleston Post is seeking candidates for the 2013/2014 Scholarship Program with several scholarships of at least $1,000 each. Deadline for applications is April 12, 2013 and will be awarded by late June 2013. Eligible persons must
(1) be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate college student
(2) be a resident of Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester County, or be a member, spouse, or child of a member of the Charleston Post or member of the Citadel Student Chapter of SAME
(3) have a G.P.A. of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or greater for high school and college
(4) be Accepted or confirmed enrollment in an accredited U.S. college or university studying undergraduate engineering, architecture, science, math, or a related field of study in 2013/2014.
